Project Description
This is a solo project for one of the UI/UX modules in school. We are tasked to create our own logo, after that, we have to follow up with a UI mockup that suits the logo.
Logo Design
One of my dreams is to open a traditional Chinese bakery. Hence, I took this opportunity to imagine my brand image. I researched and took references from many Chinese food brand logos. The bakery will be selling traditional Chinese tarts and cookies at the higher-end price points, thus I have designed the logo to have both a slick and traditional touch to it.
Layout Sketches
After researching popular similar applications like Grab and Food Panda, I came out with a few screen layout sketches to see which ones would suit my mobile application.
Final Product
After getting feedback and tweaking, this is my final product. For the color choices, I used gold, white, and black to reflect on the luxurious branding that I am going for. The major takeaway in this project, is that looks are important but functionally must come first. Even if the product looks great, people are not familiar with the layouts, or cannot find what they want to, the product will fail.
