2D Shooter Platformer Game

Game Description

Recoil is a game whereby players have to master the control of using the recoil from the gunshot to propel themselves to traverse through many dangerous obstacles.

Project Details

  • Team size: 7 (5 Programmers, 2 Designers)

  • Prototyped in unity first, before transferring to custom engine made by programmers

  • Role: Lead Designer

As Lead Designer

  • Level design, because of the unique control of the recoil mechanics, I had to take great care of the metrics in the game

  • Mechanics and concept design

  • C# scripting in unity for mechanics and gameplay

  • Host gameplay testing sessions and gather feedback

  • Regular meeting with the tech team to align our milestone goals

  • Planning of design team schedules

  • Transferring of gameplay from unity into the custom engine

  • Polishing and gameplay feedbacks
